Lavender Oaks Farm Wedding

This darling pair - Asyia and Matt - were married at Lavender Oaks Farm in an outdoor ceremony that was a stunner. The couple met while both interned for Duke Athletics. After a single “work date” Matt knew and Asyia was not far behind in realizing that they were meant for each other.

The Preparation & Place

The engagement portraits, wedding preparation, ceremony and reception all took place at Lavender Oaks, and even a modest survey of this blog will give readers (and brides and grooms-to-be) a reason to visit this venue. There are so many gorgeous places to create vignettes. It’s the perfect blend of natural beauty and absolute elegance. It suited Asyia and Matt’s tastes and vision for their wedding. It also had special significance for Asyia. Her mom’s favorite flower and scent is Lavender and they are big fans of the south of France. Once Asyia visited the venue (she has actually planned several weddings herself), she knew she could stop looking for a new spot.

Everyone in the wedding parties got ready onsite, which allowed me to set up all sorts of beautiful shots of the couple getting dressed, chatting with their friends and family and letting the anticipation and excitement build.

A First Look with Dad

Beautiful weather: CHECK. Beautiful family: DONE. Watching Asyia’s father react to seeing his “little girl” in her gown: priceless.

The Ceremony

From the adorable flower girls and dapper ring bearers, to the tears, vows and cheers, the ceremony was sensational. It was everything you hope for: touching, light-hearted, tender in the right places and entirely joyful.

Mr. & Mrs.

These two shared with me that their favorite moment was actually not one specific moment, but the more generalized feeling of two families coming together. They said there was a feeling of palpable love coming from everyone in attendance.

The Details

The palette was autumnal, with plenty of greenery, whites, creams, and there was loads of texture, too. Wood, lace, soft linens, floating candles and market lights, every element felt perfect. The indoor reception, after the outdoor ceremony, was warm and glowing as everyone danced the night away.

The Reception & Party

Lavender Oaks Farm not only has the outdoor gazebo, fireplace and patio areas, Asyia and Matt took advantage of the other outdoor seating for their guests. While some guests danced inside, others gathered around fire pits to chat.

Congratulations Aysia & Matt

What a day and evening! Asyia and Matt, I wish you decades of health, happiness and bliss!
