The Distillery Wedding

The Setting

This venue is a stunner. I can speak about this first hand as a photographer, but any bride and groom whose planned their ceremony at The Distillery will say the same. It’s just “WOW” everywhere you look. The natural light streams in from loads of perfectly placed windows, the high ceilings in the “barn” create a sense of expansiveness, and the monochromatic white walls and elements create a blank canvas. And by that I mean that any theme is possible! The lack of color is decidedly NOT boring, and what the venue calls “Refined Industrial” is actually a study in sophistication. The Distillery should be on the short list for any bride who wants florals, textures and the addition of her own personality showcased in a gorgeous setting. See what I mean in the images below?

For their June wedding this year, Mutinta and Adolly took advantage of both indoor and outdoor spaces, and filled their ceremony space with beautiful florals, floating candles in tall glass vases, three extravagant and adorned hoops at the altar, but also with lots of laughter and love. When couples envision their big day as a royal wedding, this is what they are talking about, surely. Deep greens, golds, pale blush and lots of white were the colors of the day.

Preparation

The bride and her bridesmaids got ready together with champagne and a sweet first look. Her gown, veils and tiara not only made her feel like a princess, but look like one. I loved the closeups of the pearls and beads on her gown, and of course, the expressions of her bridesmaids during the big reveal. The groom was coordinated, excited and absolutely dapper. He could not stop smiling!

A First Look

Mutinta and Adolly shared a first look outside, where they hugged and laughed. I love seeing these moments in real time, even through my lens. A photographer’s access to these moments is not something that I take for granted.

The Ceremony

Do you see what I mean about the venue and this couple’s use of the light and addition of florals? I hope these images speak for themselves, but most importantly, I hope this couple relishes them in the years to come.

The Friends

The Details & Party

Gold, blush, floating candles, gilt details, tons of greenery, tall vases and coordinating linens made this reception perfection. Brides-to-be: take note. In a venue like The Distillery, if you coordinate everything, the event is not only a showstopper, but the images your photographer can capture will take your breath away. I loved shooting this wedding. Each detail was well chosen and watching Mutinta and Adolly move through the space - hugging friends, smiling at each other, and taking in the setting - was truly special.

Yes, the reception had all the things that couples - and their guests - hope for: dancing, toasts, cake and joy. This party was A PARTY.

Congratulations to these two amazing people - now a couple, now a union. Thank you for choosing me for you big day. I wish you both decades of happiness after a well-executed day.
